제목 CO2 Gas Transport Properties of Polysulfone Membranes Containing Poly(ethylene glycol)
초록 The CO2 removal process using polymeric membranes has been developed and received a great attention because of global warming. Among various polymer membranes, rubbery polymer membranes such as poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) have high CO2 permeability and high polar/nonpolar gas selectivity. In this work, Polysulfone-poly(ethylene glycol) (PSf-PEG) random copolymers were synthesized to prepare polymeric membranes for CO2 separation. PEG with high CO2 affinity was introduced into fluorene and bisphenol-A based PSf respectively. Fluorene based PSf-PEG membranes showed two times higher CO2 Permeability than bisphenol A based PSf-PEG membranes. Randomly dispersed PEG in PSf phase induced packed morphology so that CO2 permeability of these copolymers were similar or lower than one of pure PSf. Selectivity of these copolymer membranes gradually increased with increasing PEG content due to affinity between ether linkage and CO2
