The separator is key component of the battery system, which is often used in liquid electrolyte batteries. Separator should be mechanically strong with sufficient porosity to absorb liquid electrolyte for the high ionic conductivity. In the present study, porous PVDF/PDMS polymer blend membrane based separators loaded with 5 wt. % of Bis(trifluoromethane) sulfonamide lithium salt (LTFSI) were prepared using glycerol as co-solvent. The structure, morphology and mechanical property of the synthesized polymer blend membranes were determined using various techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, FT-IR, TGA/DSC, BET and Universal testing machine (UTM). Finally, liquid electrolyte uptake and ionic conductivity of the prepared porous membranes under various stretching rates were determined so as to realize its application aspect as separator in the stretchable lithium-ion batteries. |
