Seeking solutions for the flow development under an electrostatic field, the Fourier series method is here employed. First, the evolution equation describing the film surface is derived with some proper boundary conditions. In virtue of the Fourier series expansion its partial differential equation has been reduced to simultaneous ordinary differential equations in time. The applied electrostatic field is also expanded by means of Fourier series, and expressed as the film depth at each time. Using this way of solution method the flow stability affected by the electric field can be easily addressed. |
