Preparation of multifunctional magnetite-polystyrene/polythiophene (Fe3O4-PSt/PTh) nanoparticles via miniemulsion/oxidative polymerization |

Magnetite-Polystyrene/Polythiophene(Fe3O4-PSt/PTh, core/shell) nanoparticles were fabricated via two step synthetic methods. Hydrophobic magnetite was modified by oleic acid(OA) and capsulated in PSt particles via miniemulsion polymerization. Outer surface of shell, PTh, was polymerized by oxidation-reduction seed polymerization. As a couple agents, hydrogen peroxide and ferric chloride as catalyzes were used to carry out recycling oxidative initiation. Material composition was also proved by FT-IR. The morphology and inner structure of Fe3O4-PSt/PTh core/shell particles were observed by SEM and TEM analysis, respectively. Photoluminescence property was measured by photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). Conductivity of Fe3O4-PSt/PTh nanoparticles was measured by 4-point probe conductivity meter. Finally, crystalline structures and magnetization hysteresis loops of Fe3O4-PSt/PTh were investigated by XRD and SQUID, respectively. |
