Charge transport behavior of PbSe nanocrystals studied by top-gate field effect transistor |

Here we report the effect of polymer dielectric layer (dielectric constant, surface polarity) on the charge transport behavior of arrays of colloidal nanocrystals. For this purpose, PbSe nanocrystals were synthesized and surface-treated by various short organic ligands such as benzenedithiol and mercaptopropionic acid. By constructing top-gate device geometry with hydrophobic polymer as dielectric layer and we demonstrate exceptionally stable field effect transistor (FET) performance based on PbSe nanocrystals with optimized surface ligand. The origin of such stability of nanocrystal-FETs is fully discussed together with various characterization results. |
