제목 Computational Design of Exsolution Phenomena in Perovksite Oxide for Improved Catalytic Activity
초록 Redox ex-solution, in-situ synthesis process of metal nanoparticles upon high-temperature reduction has widely been studied as a way to fabricate metal-decorated oxide catalysts in the fields of high-temperature catalysis and renewable energy. However, the underlying mechanisms related to this phenomenon are not completely understood. In this talk, we will discuss about our exploration of the possibility and detailed mechanism for B-metal exsolution on various kinds of perovskite oxides. We will introduce (1) a possible driving force for the exsolution of B-metal nanoparticles (NPs), (2) thermodynamically preferable mechanism for the exsolution of alloy NPs, and (3) how to boost B-metal exsolution to further improve catalytic activity with the experimental verifications.
