Preparation of PES /TiO2-GO nanocomposite and application to water purification |

Poly(ethersulfone) (PES)/TiO2-GO (grapheme oxide) nanocomposites were prepared by phase inversion method for the photocatalytic treatment of wastewater. PES was used as polymeric matrices to solve the recovery problems. GO was used to enhance the adsorption of pollutants and to improve the electron transferring from TiO2. Both TiO2 and GO played the role of improving the hydrophilicity of the polymer. PES/TiO2-GO nanocomposites were fabricated into membrane shape by phase inversion method to have the higher surface area. The morphology and structure of nanocomposite were studied by scanning electron microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity PES/TiO2-GO nanocomposite was evaluated by a UV spectrometer based on the degradation of methylene blue solution. |
