Semiconductor-based photocatalysis has attracted considerable attention as it is a promising pathway for solving increasingly serious energy and environmental problems. Cadmium sulfide, CdS nanorods with a bandgap of 2.4 eV is extensively studied for visible photocatalytic H2 evolution. However, high electron-hole recombination and photocorrosion impede the practical applications of CdS. Hence designing CdS based heterostructures is an alternative to avoid the drawbacks associated with the pure CdS nanorods. Herein, CdS–Bi2MoO6 heteronanostructures were prepared by two step hydrothermal and solvothermal methods. The produced photocatalysts samples were analyzed towards visible photocatalytic H2 evolution reactions. |
