Photocatalytic H2 evolution is one of promising routes to tackle the energy crisis and environmental problems. Recently, One dimensional CdS nanorods with a bandgap of ~2.40 eV has been extensively studied in the fields of solar to H2 conversion reactions due to their optical, and electronic properties, direct pathway for electron transport, visible light absorption and higher surface area. It is well-known that many properties of CdS such as morphology, size, and structural defects can affect its photocatalytic activity. Herein, we have studied the effect of annealing temperature on the structural and optical properties of CdS nanorods. The influence of annealing temperature on photocatalytic H2 evolution of annealed CdS nanorods was given a particular attention. |
