Photosensitizers can produce highly reactive singlet oxygen by the exposure of visible light and are used to treat a variety of tumor cells in photodynamic theraphy. We report the synthesis of triethylene glycol(TEG) dendrimer conjugated chlorin derivatives as novel photosensitizers. The resulting conjugates have been purified by silica chromatography and characterized by UV-vis absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy, 1H-NMR, and MALDI-TOF-MS. This phtosensitizer showed highly enhanced water solubility and singlet oxygen generation, and in vitro phototoxicity using MTT Assay, ANNEXIN V-FITC are studied to determine their photodynamic activities. |
