The development of chemically stable, highly efficient photosensitizers(PS) is of great interest to PDT industry. To overcome some limitations of convertional PSs, we synthesized a variety of dendritic chlorin derivatives(pheophorbide a, pupurin, pyropheophobide a etc.) with water-soluble triethylene glycol(TEG) dendrimer designed as potential photosensitizers for PDT applications. Dendritic photosensitizers were prepared by esterification coupling of PSs with TEG dendrimers followed by structural characterizations, evaluation of phtophysical and photobiological properties. Particularly, we focus on the effect of dendrimer size for photodynamic activities. |
