Nitrite is an important target analyte because of its presence in food and the environment. Nitrite can be reduced to nitric oxide (NO) through several pathways, making nitrite therapeutically valuable, including for its cytoprotective and blood-pressure lowering effects. Rhodium(III) porphyrins have been discovered to bind nitrite with high selectivity over other anions such as Cl-, Br-, ClO4-, and CN-. We recently developed a UV-curing urethane acrylate film containing rhodium(III) porphyrins for nitrite detection. Herein, we report the photophysical property and anion-binding behaviors of rhodium(III) porphyrin-containing urethane acrylate films. |
