Improving tumor-targeting efficiency and anti-tumor effect based on the photothermal material laden stem cells |

In this study, we have proven that a combination of hMSC and pRGO can enhance both tumor-targeting efficiency and PTT in a synergistic manner. The pRGOs might prevent the self-aggregation that could interfere with hMSC-loading efficiency. As a result, pRGOs were able to efficiently increase the surrounding temperature with NIR absorption. Combining pRGOs with hMSCs enhanced the tumor-targeting efficiency up to 2.5 times compared to conventional treatment. The synergistic effect induced by combining hMSCs and pRGO might contribute to a new platform for future photothermal therapy with a reduced number of particles and enhanced tumor-targeting efficiency. |
