Production, inventory, and logistics control of a manufacturing company, the most important business process, include all processes from production to supply to customers. But the isolation and absence of an efficient decision making system between departments have caused unreasonable shipping plans, lots of production and sales meetings and the complexity of business process. There can be confusion and inefficiency of business processes caused by the absence of an integrated production, inventory and logistics management system. Such confusion of business processes not only delays the decision making process but also leads to tardiness of product delivery and operation cost increase. Finally, it brings about customer dissatisfaction and reduces enterprise profit. In order to integrate business processes of all departments and support an efficient decision making system between departments, it is necessary to develop an integrated system which can output the optimal decision making variables between departments. This work proposes an optimization methodology using linear programming to develop an integrated production, inventory and logistics management system for enterprise profit and customer satisfaction. In this paper, an engine of the system is presented how to develop the S/W system for system modeling, inventory computation and management, and computerization with the industrial application examples. |
