As a renewable energy source, fuel cells are attracting attention as an eco-friendly energy source to replace fossil fuels. Fuel cells are divided into several types depending on operating temperature and electrolyte. Among them, polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is mainly being studied because it can operates at low temperatures and has higher efficiency. The performance of the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) is an important factor to enhance PEMFC performance. It is also related to the loading amount of Pt nanoparticles and the morphology of the catalyst. To evaluate oxygen reduction reaction (ORR)characteristics, a half-cell test was performed to confirm the different morphology of Pt/C catalyst. In the half-cell test, Nafion and IPA are used as ionomers of the ink, and the ORR performance depends on their contents. |
