제목 | Excellent performance of proton exchange membrane water electrolysis using poly(p-phenylene) based multiblock copolymer membrane |
초록 | Hydrogen is attracting attention as an eco-friendly future energy with storage, transportability, production and consumption flexibility. Proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) is a technology to obtain pure hydrogen with high production. Perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) such as Nafion is known as a commercial material for PEM. However, it has low Tg, high crossover, low stability at high temperature and pressure and etc. In this study, hydrocarbon based multiblock copolymers consisting of sulfonated poly(p-phenylene) hydrophilic block and oligo(arylene ether) hydrophobic block were synthesized. The properties of the polymers were compared to those of Nafion and the PEMWE cells were tested. The polymer membranes exhibited higher PEMWE cell performance than Nafion. |
