Preparation of Syndiotactic Poly(vinyl alcohol)/Platinum Nanocomposite Microspheres Using Suspension Copolymerization and Heterogeneous Saponification |
초록 |
Commercial PVA embolic particles such as ContourTM and Ivalon® have been obtained by the pulverization of a fully saponified PVA sponge. However irregularity of particles size and shape have caused an inflammatory reaction in the wall of the embolized vascular tissue and made it difficult to occlude targeted blood vessels selectively. Therefore, uniform particles size, spherical morphology and stability to human blood should be required. If embolic materials have proper radiopacity, their localization in and progress through the blood vessel can be more effective. To make Poly(vinyl pivalate/vinyl acetate) [P(VPi/VAc)] microspheres with radiopacity, radiopaque materials such as Pt were added into P(VPi/VAc) microspheres. The suspension copolymerization approach in the presence of aqueous radiopaque Pt was used. After, s-PVA/Pt nanocomposite microspheres were prepared through the heterogeneous surface saponification of P(VPi/VAc)/Pt nanocomposite microspheres. |
