Formation of ultrathin film is an important part of modern micro- and nanotechnology. These films can be made using Langmuir-Blodgett film (LB) deposition which is transferring the organic monolayer formed at air-water interface onto solid substrates using amphiphilic molecules. The films using LB method have properties such as ultrathin, defect-free, controlled thickness and orientation. Three Polyimides were used to prepare LB films. The LB films of polyamic acid salt (PAAS) were fabricated using multi chain tert-amine and the films were thermally imidized. They were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction, X-ray Reflectivity, UV-VIS spectroscopy, Infrared spectroscopy, Ellipsometry and Atomic Force Microscopy. In this study, we examined the effect of fluorine on the LB film formation. Due to the free volume of fluorines, the surface area of monolayer increased and the thickness decreased with the increase of fluorine contents. The prepared PAAS LB films had y-type structure. |
