Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) have received considerable attentions because of their remarkable optoelectrical properties, excellent biocompatibility, good dispersion stability in aqueous media and non-toxicity to human bodies compared with other semiconductor or inorganic quantum dots (QDs). Folic acid (FA) is targeting materials for drug delivery system because it binds with Folate receptors (FRs) on the surface of cancer cells. In this study, highly fluorescent and multi-functional CQDs have been synthesized from folic acid as a kind of A2B type polyamidation monomer (A:-COOH, B:-NH2) via simple microwave treatment. Synthesized folic acid-based CQDs (FA-CQDs) show strong blue emission, low cytotoxicity by MTT assay, and high cellular uptake by flow cytometer analysis. Consequently, FA-CQDs can be successfully used as targeted drug delivery system for the therapy and diagnosis of cancers. 2019년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음. |
