Synthesis and Properties of Deoxybenzoin-Based Fire-Safe Polymers |
초록 |
Thermally robust and highly anti-flammable deoxybenzoin-based polyarylates containing various ratios of Bisphenol A units in the backbone were synthesized by solution polycondensation and then characterized. The presence of BPA units in the polymer backboneserves to improve solubility of bishydroxydeoxybenzoin polyarylate copolymers and leads to high molecular weight and glass transition temperature and high char yield under nitrogen atmosphere. The BHDB-BPA (50:50) polyarylates passed UL-94 with a V0 and 5VA rating. The mechanical properties of BHDB-BPA (50:50) polyarylatesare comparable to commercially available polyarylates. |
