제목 Polydopamine nanoparticle-embedded thin film membrane for pressure-retarded osmosis
초록 In several high technologies to water-based energy harvesting systems, a salinity gradient power system has much attention to go further clean and sustainable renewable energy due to unlimited source from seawater. One of the bottle-necks for commercialization is the limitation of membrane performance. This study demonstrates the novel nanoparticle-embedded thin film membrane to improve power density of pressure retarded osmosis (PRO) systems. Polydopamine nanoparticles were incorporated in the fully aromatic polyamide thin film via a conventional interfacial polymerization. The nanoparticle size of polydopamine was tuned by the pH of aqueous solutions, the concentration of dopamine, and buffer agents. The water flux was 2.5 L m-2.h-1.bar-1. The maximum power density was 21.5 10 W/m2 which is quite so high for commercialization
