Polyurethane Elastomer Enhanced with Cellulose Nanocrystals |
초록 |
Polyurethane (PU) / cellulose nanocrystal (CNCs) nanocomposites having high mechanical strength at breaking point were synthesized by introducing CNCs during the preparation of PU prepolymer with polyether-polyols. The individualized CNCs used as a reinforce filler were covalently bonded with isocyanate group of PU prepolymer, indicating strong association with hard microdomains of segmented polyether polyurethane. Such nanostructure significantly increases stiffness and toughness of the thermoplastic polyurethane without decreasing its extensibility. The results of this study will promise a great impact on broadening the industrial applications of cellulose nanocrystal-based polymer nanocomposite. |
