제목 Tuning of the activity and induction period of silica supported double metal cyanide catalyzed ring-opening polymerizations of propylene oxide
초록 Polymerization of propylene oxide have been carried out by using silica supported DMC (Si-DMCs) catalyst prepared by reacting ZnCl2 and K3[Co(CN)6]2 in the presence of various amount of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The catalysts were characterized by elemental analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, electron microscopy and X-ray powder diffraction. The polyether polyols produced by the present silica supported DMC catalysts are characterized by ultra low unsaturation level, high molecular weight, low viscosity, narrow polydispersity compared to the products produced by conventional DMC and base catalysts. The activity was increased with lower amount of TEOS. The 5 g of TEOS was found to be the optimum amount for higher polymerization activity.
