제목 Studies on the Preparation of Uniform Polymer Microspheres (I) - Formation of Monodisperse Monomer Droplet by Vibratory excitation.
초록 Suspension polymerization is one of the common methods used to prepare the micron-sized polymer beads. However, monodisperse polymer bead by chemical method were hardly prepared owing to setellite paricles and aggregation of inter-beads arose from mechanicl agitation. In recent years, there have been several reports of the fabrication of polymer microsphere with controlled, uniform size. However, none of these methods was successful in generating particles in a size range appropriate while maintaining narrow size distribution. In this study, monomer droplets of uniform size were prepared by the vibratory excitation which generated a jet of monomer flowing in a continuous liquid medium containning a suitable suspending agent. Also, formation behavior of monomer droplet through high speed video was studied under various process conditions: concentration of suspending agent, monomer flow rate, frequncy, nozzle size.
