Poly(lactic acid)(PLA) and poly(butyleneadipate-co-butyleneterephthalate) (PBAT) are biodegradable polymers which were recently commercialized with increasing of environmental interests. PLA has high modulus and strength properties but brittle while PBAT has tough and flexible properties. In order to complement of both PLA and PBAT properties, in this experiment chooses to PLA/PBAT blend systems. In this experiment, biodegradable PLA/PBAT blends are reinforced by MWNT with various compositions via melt processing using lab-scale twin-screw extruder. The ratio of PLA and PBAT in blend was fixed as 50:50. Also, we made dog-bone samples by lab-scale catapult for investigate mechanical strength. Morphological, rheological, and thermal properties for biodegradable polymer blend/multiwalled carbon nanotubes were characterized by using SEM, TEM, rotational rheometer, and TGA, respectively. |
