제목 The Effect of Molecular Structure of formed copolymer and shear force on Morphological Changes at Polymer-Polymer Interface
초록 In this study we investigated the effect of molecular structure of formed copolymer on morphological changes at reactive polymer-polymer interface consisting of glycidylmethacrylate terminated polystyrene (PS-GMA) and an carboxylated poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA-COOH)..
Because of using three different kinds of PMMA-COOH where the position of carboxylate group is located at the middle, a third and the end of PMMA chain, different molecular structures (block versus graft copolymers) were formed at the interface. We prepared the bilayer film of PS-GMA and PMMA-COOH onto Si-wafer by sequential spin-casting, and reaction was done at 180oC for 24 hrs. The interface morphology was investigated either by AFM after removing of PS by selective solvent, or by cross-sectional TEM. We found that the Y-shape (or graft) copolymers formed in situ increased the interface roughness than block copolymers. Finally, the effect of oscillatory shear force on interfacial roughness was studied.
