In this study, pioglitazone-loaded polyoxalate (POX) microspheres were prepared using a O1/O2/W emulsion-solvent evaporation method. In addition, chainge of production condition of temperature, stirring speed, concentration etc. POX is biocompatible and biodegradable polymer has half-life 7~10days. Pioglitazone is an oral anti-hyperglycemic agent that acts primarily by increases insulin sensitivity in target tissues. It’s used as a monotherapic drug or a combinative drug with sulfonyluea or insulin the management of type 2 diabetes melitus. SEM was used to observe surface morphology of the microspheres. The analysis of crystallization was analyzed to use XRD, DSC. In addition, FT-IR was used to analyze chemical bond of microspheres. The influence of preparation parameters was studied with respect to microspheres. These results showd that the release behaviors can be effectively controlled by the preparation conditions.
