제목 Study on the Dissolved Oxygen Removal using Catalytic Hollow Fiber Membrane
초록 It is well known that dissolved oxygen (DO) has a harmful effect on the corrosion of system materials in make-up water storage tank in nuclear power plant (NPP). To remove the DO in NPP, we investigated the fabrication and efficiency test of catalytic polypropylene hollow fiber membrane. For the purpose of modification degassing effect by hollow fiber membrane, the mechanism of the catalytic reaction with oxygen and hydrogen in water was proposed. Metal catalyst was palladium (Pd), and it was supported on the surface of PP membrane by ion-beam treatment. After Ar+ ion irradiated on the surface of PP, Pd was coated on the surface of PP by sputter.
First, without hydrogen, DO removal efficiency test was carried out. Then, the constant flow of hydrogen was continuously introduced in catalytic hollow fiber membrane and the DO removal efficiency was tested. From the results, we found that catalytic hollow fiber membrane approved the DO removal efficiency than the hollow fiber membrane without catalyst.
