Up to now, there is a growing interest in polythiophene as one of the promising conductive polymer because of its great electrical and optical properties. In this study, Polythiophene nanoparticles were prepared by oxidative polymerization in dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DBSA) micellar solution via APS / FeCl3 (oxidant/catalyst) system. DBSA was used to act simultaneously as a surfactant and doping agent. Although the chemical and electrochemical synthesis procedures of substituted polythiophene have matured, the synthesis method of unsubstituted polythiophene is greatly resticted owing to a lack of reactivity under chemical synthesis conditions. In order to confirm the structure and morphology of the polythiophene nanoparticles, wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis were studied. |
