Preparation of polymeric nanocapsules in inverse system |

Polymeric nanocapsules containing oil, aqueous, or sold phase core have been used for various purpose including protection of core materials, controlling permeability and releasing profile. In this study, we prepared the polyurea nanocapsules containing imidazole as a hydrophilic core in inverse system via interfacial polycondensation reaction. Diamine in aqueous core phase and diisocyanate in oily continuous phase were used as monomers for polyurea. The reaction occurred at the interface of two immiscible phases to form polyurea shell. As a result of the reaction the spherical shaped nanocapsules were obtained. It was revealed that the types of the monomers and the continuous phase material highly affected the morphology of nanocapsules. Curing reaction of prepared polyurea nanocapsule with epoxy resin confirmed that nanocapsules containing imidazole which is used as a curing agent of epoxy were successfully performed as expected. |
