Fabrication of SiC-Si3N4-Si2N2O channeled composites with TiO2 coating inside the channel |
초록 |
A channeled composite of SiC-Si3N4-Si2N2O was fabricated by multipass extrusion process from the waste SiC sludge from semiconductor industry. The cleaned and dried SiC powders were mixed with silicon powders. The mixture powders were mixed with polymer (poly-ethelyne-vinyle-acetate ) by shear mixing. To create the channeled pores graphite powders were used as a pore forming agent and were also shear mixed with the same polymer as stated before. The shear mixed ceramic and graphite materials were warm pressed and then extruded to obtain final green composites. Burning out at nitrogen atmosphere drove out the polymers and pore forming agents. Sintering was done in N2 atmosphere at 1400 °C to make reaction bonded silicon nitride and silicon oxy-nitride along with the consolidation of the composites system. To enhance the sintering of the difficultly sintered composites La2O3 and Al2O3 was added as sintering additives. Finally the pore surface of the channeled porous composites was coated with TiO2 using sol-gel precursors. Subsequent thermal treatment and aging were performed to enhance the fiber formation and morphology. Detailed microstructural characterization was performed by SEM and XRD techniques. |
