Production and Characterization of Porous Titanium Scaffolds with Controlled Periodic Ti walls using Indirect Solid Free Form Fabrication |
초록 |
Titanium (Ti) and its alloys have been widely used for orthopedic and dental application fields. Owing to titanium has good mechanical properties and great bio-compatibility. However, we are often surfer from titanium has much higher stiffness than natural bone and it causes the stress shielding effect. To solve this problems, fabrication of porous Ti scaffold with high mechanical strength with moderate elastic modulus is very important. For achieving this goal, there are various methods for fabricate the porous Ti scaffold and nowadays, one of useful techniques for fabricate 3D scaffold is Three-Dimensional Printing (3DP) such as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM). By using this FDM technique can control the pore & wall size and fabricate complex shape with undercut especially, large sized structures. In this study, Ti scaffold with a uniform porous structure were produced by Indirect Solid Free Form (SFF) technique and the porous structure of that scaffolds was evaluated. We fabricated porous scaffold using polymeric paste by FDM technique, followed by casting the Ti based slurry into the polymeric scaffold that fabricated by FDM technique. After casting, removed the polymeric scaffold using solvent leaching and the Ti scaffold was sintered. |
