제목 | Modelling of methane dry reforming in fixed-bed reactor |
초록 | The dry reforming technology has attracted an attention compared to otheroptions because it consumes carbon dioxide(CO2) unlike steam methanereforming that is the most popular hydrogen production method but emits CO2during the process. In this study, a plug flow reactor model ina 1D is developed including reactions kinetics, pressure drop and energyequation and a set of model equations are implemented in MATLAB. Throughsolving the set of the developed model equations, changes in mole fraction ofeach component, pressure , and temperature in the longitudinal direction in thereactor are obtained. In addition, the reactor model is extended to a 2D axisymmetricdomain via multiphysics computational fluid dynamics(CFD) software, COMSOL. Finally,comparisons are made between two modelling approaches; It is confirmed thatcomparable results could be observed between two model, although more detailedinformation could be obtained through the 2D axisymmetric simulation. |
