제목 An improved protein-centric classification of Streptomyces venezuelae strains using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry
초록 In this study, we classified various Streptomyces species and strains using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. From the protein/peptide fingerprints of the bacterial extracts, 25 Streptomyces species and strains were well-classified, and the HCA dendrogram performed with MALDI MS spectra of the microbes correlates well with the phylogenetic tree constructed by their genome sequences as well as their 16s rRNA sequences. This fast and reliable protein-centric MS-based microbial classification method would allow us to better classify and distinguish diverse bacterial species and strains.
