Nanostructured pyropolymers contain a significant amount of redox-active heteroatoms and have a high specific surface area and a defective carbon microstructure, indicating good potential for pseudocapacitive charge storage. In this study, several types of nanostructured pyropolymers were fabricated from abundant biopolymers in nature by simple pyrolysis method with potasium hydroxide. The nanostructured pyropolymers showed superior electrochemical performances as both anode and cathode for Li-ion and Na-ion. In addition, their full-cell devices exhibited high energy and high power characteristics, with great cyclic stabilities. |
