Many countries are paying attention to hydrogen as the next generation energy source. Hydrogen is known as a clean fuel because it does not emit pollutants after combustion. Consequently, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCV) are induced to replace the fossil fuel based vehicles and the Korean government has planned to operate 1200 hydrogen refueling stations by 2040. Hence, process design as well as risk assessment are needed for hydrogen refueling stations. This study performed a quantitative risk assessment (QRA) of hydrogen supplying and refueling stations. For the hydrogen production, natural gas (NG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) reforming processes are considered. Then, individual risk (IR) and societal risk (SR) are investigated to assess the risk level of two different types of hydrogen supplying processes. |
