In this work, an electrochemical sensor was prepared using cellular prion (PrPc) protein for selective detection of Aβ1-42 oligomer. The amine-terminated PrPc peptide was immobilized on gold electrode covered in advance with a self-assembled monolayer of 3-mercaptopropionic acid. The electrochemical properties of the modified electrode were confirmed by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The sensing performance of the Aβ-sensor was investigated by the surface resistance-change in EIS, which provided the linear range response as well as low detection limit. The high selectivity and sensitivity of the Aβ-sensor can be used in practical for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. |
