This study describes a method for speciation of Hg in solid material. Mercury speciation in solid state has been studied by thermo-desorption(TD) for separating Hg species, and by cold vapor-atomic absorption spectrometry(CV-AAS) for identification and quantification of Hg. Various diluted Hg compounds (e.g. Hg0, HgCl2, HgO, and HgS) with coal fly ash was used for qualitative calibration. The temperature of the furnace was program controlled at a linear rate so that different Hg compounds can clearly be separated. Obtained results give a possible application of qualitative and quantitative analysis of Hg0, HgCl2, HgO, and HgS species in solid sample. |
