제목 Oxidation of Phenolic Contaminants during Water Treatment with Ferrate (Fe(VI)): A Kinetic Study
초록 This study will present kinetics for the reactions between ferrate (Fe(VI)) and selected phenolic endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) such as ethinylestradiol (EE2), estradiol (E2), and bisphenol-A (BPA) and show to what extent these EDCs can be transformed during water (lake water and wastewater) treatment with Fe(VI). In addition, quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) of rate constants for oxidation of substituted phenols by Fe(VI) will be presented to provide a means to predict rate constants for reaction of more phenolic contaminants with Fe(VI). In addition, the application of ferrate(VI) for the oxidation of phenolic moieties will be compared to other oxidants such as ozone, chlorine dioxide and chlorine.
