Omniphobic Overhanging Microdisk Arrays Fabricated by Reaction-Diffusion-Based Photolithgraphy |
초록 |
In nature, some creatures have omniphobic surface which shows a contact angle larger than 90° for various liquids. For example, Springtails possess an array of re-entrant posts on their skin which facilitates the pinning of liquid-air interface. Inspired by Springtails, we create overhanging microdisk arrays for omniphobic surface by employing reaction-diffusion-based photolithography. Under local ultraviolet (UV) irradiation, oxygen rapidly consumes radicals created by UV-activation. When oxygen diffusion rate is comparable with consumption rate, the structure grows along a lateral direction from center at which oxygen becomes depleted early. We use this reaction-diffusion-based lithography to make narrow pillar on microdisk which are prepared in advance. The structures are turned over to have overhanging microdisk array, which exhibits robust omniphobic property after surface fluorination. This is because both top and bottom edge of microdisks can pin liquid-air interfaces. |
