Biodiesel was produced from triglycerides of microalgae Tetraselmis sp. using lipase. In order to prepare biodiesel with low or no glycerol, we investigated one-pot reactive extraction method in the presence of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as lipid extraction agent, acyl acceptor, substrate for glycerol derivatives and reaction medium. Fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) with yield of more than 160 mg/g biomass was produced from dried microalgae biomass containing 20 % total lipid. Residual glycerol was detected below 10% of the expected concentration in conventional method. |
