Drug Release Behavior and Antitumer Efficiency of Etiposide Loaded Triblock Copolymeric Miceller Nanoparticles |

To estimate the feasibility of polymer as a drug carrier, amphiphilic triblock copolymers, poly(p-dioxanone-co-L-lactide)-block- poly(ethylene glycol) nanoparticles were prepared in aqueous medium using acetonitrile as a solvent by nano-precipitation technique. From the observation of atomic force microscopy (AFM) the nanoparticles exhibited a uniform, smooth and spherical shape of around 45 nm diameters. Further, dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurement showed a uni-modal size distribution of around 100 nm hydrodynamic diameter. The preliminary results in lung cancer (NCI-H-182 cell line), showed a significant reduction of cell number while the cells were incubated with Etiposide -loaded nanoparticles.
