Synthesis of 3D reduced graphene oxide and single walled carbon nanotubes composites and their application as catalyst supports for fuel cells |

The restacking of graphene or reduced graphite oxide (r-GO) is commonly regarded as a severe obstacle for potential applications. We propose the application of single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) as an effective carbon spacer for fabricating a sandwich-like three-dimensional (3D) carbon composite with GO. Pt/SWCNT/r-GO with various weight ratio of SWCNTs is compared with Pt/r-GO. The SWCNTs act as smooth migration of ion by making ideal spacer as well as functioned spacers which inhibit restacking of r-GO sheets. The enhanced Pt/SWCNT/r-GO composite electrode was demonstrated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry (CA), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). |
