In this study, electrochromic display is printed by roll-to-roll (R2R) gravure printing processes on PET foil. R2R gravure printed electrochromic display is R2R gravure printed using 5 color units. To fabricate electrochromic display by using R2R gravure inline printing processes, transparent conductive ink for bottom electrode, insulator ink for display pattern, electrolyte ink for ion transfer, transparent conductive ink for top electrode, and polyanniline-silver hybrid ink for wiring were continuously R2R printed. To invest operation characteristics of fully R2R gravure printed electrochromic display, we used function generator (Tektronix AFG 3022) for supplying electric power to electrochromic display. As a result, we confirmed that the state of PEDOT was changed with oxidation and reduction reactions by applying power sign direction. The fully R2R gravure printed electrochromic display (1cm X 3cm) needs 3mW of power to display image. |
