제목 Effect of silica spheres on growth and mineral cumulation to soybean sprouts
초록 The effect of silica spheres on the growth rate and mineral cumulation to soybean sprouts has been studied. Soybean sprouts were cultivated with and without silica spheres. The growth rate of soybean sprouts grown with silica spheres suppressed approximately 25 %. Although there was no cumulation of minerals in the root of soybean sprouts grown without silica spheres, large number of crystalline mineral particles were distributed all over the root of soybean sprouts, which was mainly due to the charge carrying property of silica spheres. The compositions of mineral particles obtained by energy dispersive spectroscopy were carbon (54.22 %), nitrogen (7.83 %), oxygen (24.83 %), phosphorus (3.57 %), sulfur (1.25 %), potassium (5.25 %) and calcium (3.06 %). Since an electron beam penetrates more than 1 μm of the sample during EDS process, the carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen are from root of soybean sprout.
