제목 Effect of Carbon Fiber Length on Mechanical Properties of Carbon Fibers/Carbon Blacks-reinforced Natural Rubber Compounds
초록 Natural rubbers (NR) exhibit unique characteristics including high elasticity and fatigue resistance compared to general plastic materials. Since discovery of NR, there has been applied in various industries because of above characteristics. The carbon fibers (CF) have been also attractive materials owing to their specific strength and stiffness. In this work, the mechanical properties of carbon fibers/carbon blacks-reinforced natural rubber compounds were investigated with different lengths of carbon fibers. The CF and carbon blacks (CB) were treated with silane to improve dispersive state in the compounds. The NR with various lengths of CF and each ingredient were mixed. Mechanical properties of the compounds were studied by tensile strength, elongations, modulus, and tearing strength.
