Fabrication of 0-dimensional Ferroelectric Nanostructure and Investigation on Its Critical Size |
초록 |
It has been well known that nanostructured materials can have distinct properties from its bulk counter parts. For ferroelectric materials, as characteristic size decreases diminishment of Curie temperature has been predicted and experimentally observed. It’s also anticipated that below certain dimension, spontaneous polarization becomes unstable and phase transition from ferro- to paraelectric occurs. Theoretical calculations suggest this certain size (critical size) would exist in sub-10 nm region. Yet, actual critical size hasn’t been reported due to accessibility to the structure and accuracy of measurement methods. We aimed to track down critical size of 0-dimensional ferroelectric nanostructure by using block copolymer self-assembly. Nanoislands with diameter of around 10 nm were fabricated and their epitaxy was confirmed by synchrotron X-ray diffraction. Existence of ferroelectricity will be observed by piezoresponse force microscopy. |
