Modification on SAGD CPF Via Energy Integration |

Process Integration (PI) is widespread used in various industries to help enhance energy efficiency and increase profitability. Pinch analysis is one of the most well-known PI approach which emerged in the last 20 years and has been developing so far. This paper explored modifications of heat exchanger networks in the SAGD oil sands extraction central process facilities by using pinch analysis. The retrofit resulted in 14.07% utilities saving. This corresponds to investment reduction of 12.18%. |
