Zwitterionc and fluorinated macromolecules have been suggested as a surface-modifying oligomer (SMO) for prevention of anti-thrombosis and bacterial biofilm formation. In the present study, synthesizing oligomers with zwitterionic and tetra-fluorinated polyurethane backbones (ZFPU) and evaluation of anti-fouling and anti-thrombotic effects were held by combing with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Determination of synthesizing of zwitterionic, tetra-fluorinated segments and ZFPU backbone were accessed by 1H NMR and FT-IR. Furthermore, ZFPUs-blended PVC films were examined on protein adsorption and the platelet adhesion/activation. Compared to the pristine PVC, our PVC film showed slight reduction of protein adsorption and platelet adhesion/activation. Thus, we believe that our zwitterionic and fluorinated SMOs has high hope for various biomaterials, including blood-contacting medical devices. |
