제목 Enhanced sulfur resistance of cobalt promoted Cu-SSZ-13 catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3
초록 NOx emission regulations have been tightened, and much effort has been expended to develop efficient NOx removal technologies and catalysts. One of the most efficient technologies to reduce NOx is a selective catalytic reduction with NH3 (NH3-SCR). For the NH3-SCR catalyst, the Cu-SSZ-13 zeolite was successfully commercialized due to its excellent catalytic performance and hydrothermal stability. However, the poor sulfur stability of Cu-SSZ-13 even under low levels of SO2 from the ultra-low sulfur fuel makes the limitation for broad applications, such as power plant and marine engine. In this study, we synthesized Cu-SSZ-13 catalysts with different Si/Al ratios, which were promoted with different amounts of cobalt (Co(x)Cu-SSZ-13, x = 1, 3, and 6 wt%). CoCu-SSZ-13 catalysts showed improved SO2 resistance compared to the conventional Cu-SSZ-13. The role of cobalt was investigated by various characterization methods, including XPS, TPD, and H2-TPR.
